Virginia Cops Threatened The President While Guarding Him – Whistleblower Fired

So…when does this craziness over having a Black man as president end?

Addicting Info

Before the Clinton era, Americans respected their president. Not necessarily the man or his politics, but the office at the very least. That changed when right-wing hatred of the Clinton family sparked a partisan war that ended in the examination of Bill Clinton’s personal life and his impeachment. Since those events, it has become open season on the President of the United States for anything you can think of, with no respect for the man or the office present in those with different political allegiances. In an incident that illustrated that point, officers in Richmond, Virginia who were assigned to guard Obama and the First Lady made comments that were sexually inappropriate about Michelle Obama and threatened the life of the President. A Secret Service investigation came to the conclusion that they had broken no laws with their speech, and two officers were fired. Now, the man who blew the whistle has also been fired.

Raw Story reports on the original events:

“There was an officer providing exterior security [sharpshooting] to the president on that day on the phone with the supervisor,” the whistleblower explained to WTVR last May. “The supervisor said to that particular officer, ‘you’re down there right? So, you can take a couple of shots, you might have to kill yourself, but you can take a couple of shots.’”

And “another officer in the background started talking and he said, ‘yeah, somebody should plant a bomb underneath the stage while they’re on there and blow it up,’” the source said.

Inappropriate remarks were also made about Michelle Obama.

“Nobody wants to see her anyway — unless she gets undressed or get [sic] naked,” an officer allegedly said.

The whistleblowing officer was fired for conducting an interview with a local news station, which reported on the original incident using him as an anonymous source. As they report,

Multiple sources confirmed that police unscrambled the effects of the whistleblower’s statement on tape to CBS 6.

The man told CBS 6 reporter Sandra Jones he was ordered to police headquarters Tuesday afternoon where he was met by a several high-ranking police officials. The officials, he said, informed him of his termination.

The man said Wednesday morning he returned to police headquarters to pick up a packet of information. Included in that packet, he said, was the reason he was fired.

The reason, he said, was because he violated police department policy by doing an interview with CBS 6 about the a May 5 incident involving the President and the First Lady.

Because he submitted the tip on the condition of anonymity, he should not have been fired. Your First Amendment rights do not halt when you enter your place of work, and the way this Richmond officer has been treated for trying to hold others to a standard of presidential respect is despicable. An attorney interviewed by WTVR stated the following:

“There’s no question that this will have a chilling effect upon other members of the police force who will be afraid if they speak out about a matter of public concern.”

And that’s exactly it. Punishing police officers for blowing the whistle on department wrongdoing is a slippery slope to set foot on.

Rush Limbaugh: Michelle Obama Guilty Of ‘Uppity-ism’ (AUDIO)

Uppity Urban Dictionary
Word used by racist old white Southerners to refer to any black person who looks them in the eye. Usually followed by nigger.

The Huffington Post

Rush Limbaugh accused Michelle Obama of “uppity-ism” during his Monday show.

Limbaugh was speaking about the First Lady’s recent reception at a NASCAR event, where both she and Jill Biden were booed by the crowd. He said it was not surprising that she was booed, because the crowd at NASCAR resented her healthy eating initiatives and her husband’s policies.

“What the hell is there to cheer for?” Limbaugh asked. He said that people also didn’t like “paying millions of dollars” for Obama’s vacations. “They understand it’s a little bit of a waste,” he said. “They understand it’s a little bit of uppity-ism.”

Michelle Obama has been a frequent target of Limbaugh’s. Previously, he has said she “doesn’t look like” she eats healthy foods, and criticized a trip she took to Target.

Hannity on FLOTUS’ Target shopping: ‘We’re being manipulated’

Rush Limbaugh said the exact same thing yesterday.  I suppose Rush sent out his talking points for the day to his sycophant, Sean Hannity…

The Raw Story

Leave it to Sean Hannity to find something controversial about Michelle Obama shopping at Target.

On Friday evening’s edition of Hannity, the Fox commentator took umbrage over the First Lady shopping at the renowned retail store. Clearly upset at seeing photographs of her at such a location, Hannity deemed that she has “an image problem along with her husband” and questioned the authenticity of her shopping at Target.

“Martha’s Vineyard, golfing, basketball, extravagant trips, a lot of diamonds, all this stuff,” he said. “So here’s her with a picture at Target, and it just so happens an AP photographer happens to be there, right?”

Taken aback by Hannity’s skepticism, both Republican strategist Karen Harenty and Democratic strategist Joe Trippi tried to place the focus back on President Obama. But that didn’t stop the conservative firebrand from getting one last jab at the First Lady.

“I shop there, but we’re being manipulated here,” he said.

Right-Wing Lip Readers Take Michelle Obama Derangement Syndrome To A Whole New Level

I take a short break from blogging and I come back to see the crazies are at it again.  Sheesh!

Media Matters

UPDATE: Kristina Schake, communications director for First Lady Michelle Obama, made the following statement about these attacks:

The words, meaning and context in these claims are all wildly off the mark.  The First Lady was commenting to the President on how moving and powerful it always is to watch all that America’s firefighters and police officers do to honor the flag.  It was an emotional moment on a powerful day and she was awed by the ceremony and all that the flag symbolizes.

Before today, when the right-wing media made up quotations to attack progressives, they at least had some audio to misinterpret.   But now, they are reduced to lip-reading.

The Washington Times‘ senior editorial writer for foreign affairs James Robbins and right-wingbloggers are claiming that Michelle Obama likely disparaged the American flag during a ceremony commemorating the 9/11 attacks.

They have posted video of Michelle Obama whispering something inaudible to her husband during the ceremony and are speculating that she said “all this just for a flag,” “all that for a flag,” or “all of this for a damn flag.” (They disagree on exactly what she said.)

Blogger Jim Hoft, still in the running for the Dumbest Man on the Internetdidn’t even have the confidence to type the fake Michelle Obama quotation himself. He instead provided a link to an American Thinker post making the accusation for him.

The video the bloggers have posted has no audio of Michelle Obama at the relevant point, and their lip-reading is hindered by the fact that Michelle Obama’s lips disappear behind a partition at one point.

But they still believe Michelle Obama must have said something extremely controversial. We leave you with the ramblings of Debbie Schlussel, who seems to believe it doesn’t matter what Michelle Obama said, because we all know what “she’s thinkin’ “:

I can’t really tell for sure, but a number of people are abuzz about this video of Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Hussein Obama Idi Amin Dada. The consensus seems to be that the First Ms. Thang is saying to hubby Barack, “All of this for a damn flag.” (She said this about the American flag — you know the one brave men died for.) Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what she said because we know she hates America and previously said she wasn’t proud of our country until Obama had a chance to become Prez. Looks like that’s what she said, but I can’t tell for sure. I would need a deaf person or other expert lip reader to confirm. Watch and see if you agree (like I said, even if she didn’t say exactly that, we know she’s thinkin’ it).

Michelle Obama Hands A Crying Baby To President Obama. Baby Stops Crying

Mediaite is not one of my  favorite sites anymore, but I ran across this video and couldn’t resist posting it.  Apparently this incident occured before Mrs. Obama’s trip to South Africa…

Regardless of one’s political disposition, this is a pretty cool video clip, though the details of which are still somewhat unclear. What we do know, however, is that during a recent meet and greet with the people outside the White House, President Obamaand wife Michelle encountered an upset and crying baby. When asked for a photo with the commander-in-chief, the First Lady proceeds to hand the crying child to the president, only to watch the baby nearly instantly stop crying. Fonzie!

Conspiracy theorists will likely call the baby a plant, and yes, we cannot confirm that the alleged crying baby isn’t a high-tech animatronic robot designed by the CIA for the White House to melt the hearts of a divided nation. Parents of crying babies will recognize that Obama’s comforting of the crying baby seems almost as genuine as the gloating look that he shoots his wife once he quells the baby storm:
