On Jan. 10, President Barack Obama traveled to Chicago to deliver his farewell address, and he already gave us a sneak preview of what his speech may be like. Through his Facebook page, President Barack Obama said that “Chicago is all where it started, it’s the city that showed us the power and fundamental goodness of the American people.” He added that “We’ve made America a better, stronger place for the generations that will follow.”

The White House’s official Twitter account is preparing ahead of Obama’s speech.

  1. Do we even have common values and our common humanity anymore in the age of DJT? *Sigh*
I already am missing the ever classy and dignified Obama and his family. After today’s ‘spectacle,’ POTUS 45 has set an all new low bar for presidents. I think we’re quickly moving toward banana republic status. 😦

  2. Sixteen years ago Bill Clinton, in his Farewell Address, told America what it must REMEMBER in order to LEAD the world.
His statement of things apparently fell on deaf national ears because we have obviously NOT remembered. The things he said we must REMEMBER are now things WE MUST DO .
In order to REGAIN OUR FORMER LEADERSHIP in the world we must WORK to unite around our common values and our common humanity. We must WORK to overcome our differences, in our hearts and in our laws. We must TREAT all our people with fairness and dignity, regardless of their race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation, and regardless of when they arrived in our country.
Neither more ships, nor more tanks, nor more aircraft, nor more atomic weapons can help our Nation achieve that goal.
To “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” we must BELIEVE the visions of the Founders of our Great Country, and, ONCE AGAIN, we must do that in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common Defense, and promote the general Welfare, of and for ALL persons living in these United States of America.
