Joe the Plumber calls to ‘start shooting’ immigrants at the border

Samuel “Joe The Plumber” Wurzelbacher with his shotgun

The extremist on the GOP side of the aisle are getting beside themselves.

I get the whole “macho thing” they’ve got going on with gun advocacy and pretty much bullying the House and Senate, even when they’re not the majority.  I get the idea that they want to reflect strength and determination to their base as opposed to the Democrats’ usual posture of weakness and uncertainty.

However, I think some nutty Republicans have taken their “macho” role to a whole other level.

“Joe the Plumber” and Rep. Lori Klein is just the latest in a daily list of astonishingly  incompetent and attention seeking ‘politicians’, most of who came to congress on the 2010 wave.

The Raw Story

At two separate events in recent days, Samuel “Joe the Plumber” Wurzelbacher has proposed to “put a damn fence on the border going to Mexico and start shooting.”

Wurzelbacher first made the remarks during a campaign rally for Arizona Republican state Rep. Lori Klein on Friday, according to video published by Prescott eNews.

“For years I’ve said, you know, put a damn fence on the border, going to Mexico and start shooting,” he insisted.

Wurzelbacher then repeated the remarks at a so-called “Patriot Rally” with Klein on Saturday.

“I’m running for Congress. How many congressmen or people running for Congress have you heard, put a fence up and start shooting? None? Well you heard it here first. Put troops on the border and start shooting, I bet that solves our immigration problem real quick.”

While Klein refused to condemn the call for border violence, her District 11 opponent, Republican state House Speaker Andy Tobin, called for Wurzelbacher to apologize or go back home to Ohio.

“I would ask for him to retract the statement as made in jest, and if not made in jest, I’m appalled at him,” Tobin told KTVK. “We don’t do that in Arizona.”

Arizona Sen. John McCain (R) launched Wurzelbacher into fame during the 2008 presidential election when he repeatedly referred to “Joe the Plumber” during a debate with then-Sen. Barack Obama. McCain’s daughter, Meghan McCain, called Wurzelbacher’s latest idea “ridiculous.” She had previously said that he was a “dumbass” who should “stick to plumbing.”

Klein, who is running for re-election in the 11th District, drew charges of racism in 2011 when she read a controversial letter on the state Senate floor, asserting that “[m]ost of the Hispanic students do not want to be educated but rather be gang members and gangsters.”

She is also known for pointing a loaded gun at the chest of Richard Ruelas, a reporter for The Arizona Republic, while he was interviewing her at the state Capitol.

“Oh, it’s so cute,” Klein said of the raspberry-pink .380 Ruger that she carries in purse at all times, later explaining that Ruelas had no need to worry because “I just didn’t have my hand on the trigger.”

Cain’s Camp: ‘We Want A Virgin To Do A Hooker’s Job’

Huh?

The Huffington Post

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain’s Arizona state chairman defended him against allegations that he had a 13-year affair with Atlanta businesswoman Ginger White.

Lori Klein, an Arizona state Senator, told CBS News that she has known him for 12 years and he’s “never been anything but a gentleman — and I am not an unattractive woman.”  She added that in politics, “we want a virgin to do a hooker’s job.” She also said that if Cain is innocent, he should sue White for libel.

White claimed a thirteen-year affair with Cain in a report released by Fox 5 Atlanta on Monday. She said she knew that he was married and described the relationship as “fun” and “exciting” but was aware that she was involved in a”very inappropriate situation.” Cain denied the relationship, saying that White “is an acquaintance that I thought was a friend.” Cain has also denied multiple allegations of sexual harassment in the past month.

Cain told his staff on Tuesday that he is reassessing his candidacy in the wake of the allegations and will make a decision on whether to remain in the race in the next several days.

Last July, Klein took a pink handgun out of her purse and pointed it at the chest of Arizona Republicreporter Richard Ruelas. “Oh, it’s so cute,” she said before aiming it at him to show off the red beam of the laser sight. The gun has no safety, but Klein said that she didn’t have her hand on the trigger.

HUFFINGTON POST CLARIFICATION: This article has clarified the language regarding Lori Klein’s defense of Herman Cain and allegations that he conducted an affair with Ginger White.

AZ GOPer: I Didn’t Aim My Loaded Gun At A Reporter — He Sat Down In Front Of It!

Once again, TFC looks at sorting out the crazies, and this AZ State Senator is at the top of the list in today’s headlines…

TPMMuckraker

Arizona state Sen. Lori Klein (R) is disputing a reporter’s claim that she aimed her loaded gun at him during an interview, instead recounting that she was asked to show her gun and the reporter got up and sat down in the gun’s sight.

Here’s what we know happened.

Richard Ruelas wrote an article for the Arizona Republic about guns in Arizona, published Sunday, that described an interview he had with Klein in June. Klein is known for bringing her loaded raspberry pink .380 Ruger into the legislative chamber — most infamously in January, two days after the Giffords shooting in Tucson, when security tried to stop her.

In the piece, Ruelas writes that during the interview in the state Senate lounge, Klein pulled out her gun and pointed it at his chest. Here’s the key exchange:

“Oh, it’s so cute,” Klein said, as she unzipped the loaded Ruger from its carrying case to show a reporter and photographer. She was sitting on a leather couch in a lounge, just outside the Senate chamber.

She showed off the laser sighting by pointing the red beam at the reporter’s chest. The gun has no safety, she said, but there was no need to worry.

“I just didn’t have my hand on the trigger,” she said.

Lori Klein, Arizona State Senator, Pointed Loaded Gun At Reporter Richard Ruelas’s Chest

You know, it’s easy to say that some Republicans are bat-crap insane

The real proof in claiming that statement comes from the many instances of crazy, incomprehensible words and actions by many members of the GOP which are documented for posterity.

However, Arizona State Senator Lori Klein actions, a direct result of that state’s new gun “control” laws, was one of the most  despicable of the gamut of Republican craziness

Huffington Post

Arizona state Sen. Lori Klein (R), a gun-rights champion, keeps a loaded raspberry-pink handgun in her purse, and during an interview with Arizona Republic reporter Richard Ruelas, she took it out and pointed it at him.

“Oh, it’s so cute,” Klein said, before aiming the gun at Ruelas’s chest to show off the red beam of the laser sight. Klein’s gun, a .380 Ruger, has no safety, but the senator assured Ruelas that he wasn’t in danger.

“I just didn’t have my hand on the trigger,” she said.

Klein told the Arizona Republic that she owns a number of guns and has had “informal” training sessions on each of them, and that she was taught gun safety by her father.

Local gun activists have criticized Klein for pointing her gun at Ruelas, however.

Rob Mermelstein, the range master of the Phoenix Rod and Gun Club, told the Arizona Guardian, that Klein’s actions were “unconscionable.”

“Whoever would do something like that needs to have a better grounding in gun safety before ever laying a hand on a firearm,” he said.
