Family pays tab for entire Waffle House on Father’s Day

Often someone makes a generous gesture that literally makes you go…”wow!”  That happened on Sunday, June 17th 2013, Father’s Day here in Atlanta…

WSBTV ATLANTA

A family paid it forward for dozens of people on Father’s Day when they picked up the tab for every diner at a northeast Atlanta Waffle House.

The family did not want to be recognized for their generosity, but their server, Melissa Sexton, told Channel 2’s Liz Artz they are regular customers at the Cheshire Bridge restaurant.

Sexton said the family has two little girls and have picked up tabs for patrons in the past, including paying everyone’s tabs last Father’s Day as well.

Sexton said they are loving, caring people who want to give back. Sunday’s tab was $229.

Lei Shan was one of the customers who benefited from the gesture. She was eating with her husband and two children around 9:30 a.m. Sunday and wonders if the family’s generosity has a back story.

Sexton said she has never asked the family why they pick up tabs, but they always slip out without a word or even a thank you from those who ate for free.

Sexton said the family’s kindness has prompted her to pay it forward, even if it’s in a small way.

How Does Google Know It’s My Birthday?

Happy Birthday Sheila!

No more posts today unless there is absolutely astonishing breaking news.

By the way, I love the way Google knows everyone’s birthday (from Google Plus no doubt.)  I signed on and saw the birthday Google, put the cursor over the graphic and saw: “Happy Birthday Sheila Bryant!”

It makes you wonder about all this talk of “data mining”.  LOL

Have a great day everyone.

Thom Hartmann: Why it’s not crazy to think Anonymous stopped Karl Rove From Stealing the Election P2

This is the only political article that I’ll post today.   I believe it’s important to ponder the historical evidence of the contents of this video and draw your own conclusions.  I also believe it might be a good conversation piece around the dinner table today.

Once again, Happy Thanksgiving and I hope you enjoy learning the following information as much as I did…

Democrats Confident that 9/11 Health Bill Will Pass

If this bill passes, in addition to Sen. Harry Reid, I’d have to give a lot of the credit to Jon Stewart.

ABC News

The first responders still suffering health effects more than nine years after the Sept. 11 terror attacks could get a “Christmas miracle” this year, New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand said today.

Senate Republicans last week derailed a bill that would provide $7.4 billion in health care and compensation to 9/11 responders and survivors, but Gillibrand today voiced confidence that the Senate will pass the bill in the next week, now that lawmakers have agreed on how to pay for the measure.

“We have the votes we need,” Gillibrand said today at a press conference on Capitol Hill. “We’ve had indications from several Republicans that they very much want to vote for this bill.

“They would like to vote for a stand-alone bill,” she said. “There is general agreement on a new pay-for that we’re going to offer, so the hope is to get to the bill as soon as the START bill is completed.”    More…

Rep. Todd Akin: The Pilgrims Came To America To Flee ‘Unbiblical’ Socialism In The 1620′s

The attempt at “dumbing down” America continues…

Think Progress

Today, millions of Americans celebrate Thanksgiving with their families. To mark this holiday, Rep. Todd Akin (R-MO) took to the floor of the House of Representatives on Tuesday to explain its history. At one point, he opined, “It might be helpful to think back and say there’s more to Thanksgiving than the Pilgrims.” He explained that they were “a group of people who were willing to change the system, to think of different ideas.” Akin continued, “They came here with the idea that after trying socialism that it wasn’t going to work. They realized that it was unbiblical, that it was a form of theft, so they pitched socialism out. They learned that in the 1620s”:

AKIN: It might be helpful to think back and say, there’s more to Thanksgiving than the Pilgrims. They were a group of people who were willing to change the system, to think of different ideas. They came here and separated civil and church governments. They came here and created the model of a written constitution, the idea that the government should be the servant of the people. […] They came here with the idea that after trying socialism that it wasn’t going to work. They realized that it was unbiblical, that it was a form of theft, so they pitched socialism out. They learned that in the early 1620’s.
