George Zimmerman’s Father Says The ‘True Racists’ Are African-American

Amazing…

Think Progress

As the murder trial for George Zimmerman begins, his father has released an emotional and highly unusual e-book, publicly opining on all aspects of the case. The book by Robert Zimmerman Sr., called “Florida v. Zimmerman: Uncovering the Malicious Prosecution of my Son, George” was released today on Amazon for $3.99.

The most striking chapter is called “Who Are The True Racists,” an apparent effort to rebut claims that his son’s actions were racially motivated.

Previously, Zimmerman Sr. “believed generally racism was a thing of the past.” He says that, personally, he hadn’t encountered much racism, even though his wife is Hispanic. But after his son shot and killed Trayvon Martin, however, Zimmerman learned that racism is “flourishing at the insistence of some in the African American Community.” He then goes on to list various black leaders and organizations that he believes are racist:

Congressional Black Caucus. “[A] pathetic, self-serving group of racists… advancing their purely racist agenda.” He later adds that “all members of Congress should be ashamed of the Congressional Black Caucus, as should be their constituents.” And finally: “They are truly a disgrace to all Americans.”

The NAACP. “[S]imply promotes racism and hatred for their own, primarily finical, interests” and “without prejudice and racial divide, the NAACP would simply cease to exist.”

NAACP President Benjamin Jealous. “[W]hat I would expect of a racist.”

Trayvon Martin’s funeral director. A “racial activist and former head of the local NAACP.”

Benjamin Crump, Natialie Jackson and Darrly Parks, attorneys for Travyon Martin’s family. “The scheme team.”

The National Basketball Players Association.

Black Chamber of Commerce.

National Association of Black Law Enforcement Officers.

National Black United Fund.

United Negro College Fund.

While stopping short of explicitly calling President Obama a racist, Zimmerman Sr. does say that Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder have “shamelessly” sought to exploit his son’s case “to obtain great advantage in the African-American community.”

Zimmerman Sr. says that because of Holder’s decision to investigate whether Trayvon Martin’s death violated federal civil rights laws, the FBI did not have “adequate resources to investigate clearly identified potential terrorist [sic] in the Boston area.” Now, “tragically, we have suffered the consequences of Mr. Holder’s politically motivated decisions.”

Zimmerman’s father says ‘so much hate’ coming from Obama

I’m hard-pressed to see Judge Zimmerman‘s point of view here…

The Raw Story

The father of a neighborhood watch enthusiast who gunned down an African-American teen in Florida last month is calling on President Barack Obama and other black leaders to “go beyond the hate that they have.”

In an interview with WOFL on Wednesday, George Zimmerman’s father, who did not wish to reveal his first name, said that people who think that Trayvon Martin should never have been shot “would have preferred my son being beaten to death.”

“I never foresaw so much hate coming from the president, the Congressional Black Caucus, the NAACP,” Zimmerman’s father insisted. “Every organization imaginable is trying to get notoriety or profit from this in some way, but there’s so much hate. I’ve never been involved in hate and George hasn’t. … I just hope at one point everyone will go beyond the hate that they have.”

At a White House event last week, Obama was careful not to mention George Zimmerman as he lamented Martin’s death.

“And when I think about this boy, I think about my own kids,” the president said. “I think that every parent in America should be able to understand why it is absolutely imperative that we investigate every aspect of this, and that everybody pulls together, federal, state and local to figure out exactly how this tragedy happened.”

“But my main message is to the parents of Trayvon Martin,” Obama added. “You know, if I had a son, he would look like Trayvon.”

Zimmerman’s father told WOFL that “Trayvon Martin got on top of [my son] and just started beating him, in his face, in his nose, hitting his head on the concrete.”

“Trayvon Martin said something to the effect of ‘You’re going to die now’ or ‘You’re going to die tonight,’” he explained. “He continued to beat George and at some point, George pulled his pistol and did what he did.”

But the father could offer no explanation for police surveillance video released Wednesday that showed no signs of blood or bruises on Zimmerman.

“I don’t know,” he admitted. “He wasn’t given any medical attention, but they may have cleaned him up there at the scene. I have no idea.”

Drudge Seizes On Yet Another Opportunity For Race-Baiting Attack

I know we should all be used to the right-wing media with their exaggerations and falsehoods about the POTUS, but this one stands out as egregious as it can get…

County Fair | Media Matters

During his speech to the Congressional Black Caucus on September 24, President Obama said to African-American leaders: “I expect all of you to march with me and press on. Take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your marching shoes. Shake it off. Stop complaining. Stop grumbling. Stop crying. We are going to press on. We’ve got work to do, CBC.”

Unsurprisingly, the Drudge Report used the speech as an opportunity for race-baiting.

Drudge highlighted the speech with this quote: “Obama to Blacks: ‘Put On Your Marching Shoes,’ ” and accompanied it with a photograph of what looked like black people protesting in front of the White House with their fists raised:

This would have been an innocuous enough photo if this had been any other media outlet. But this is the Drudge Report, a website that traffics in race. The fact that this was a photo depicting blacks with raised fists under what some have interpreted as “a dog whistle for race riots” tells its own tale. And this is a long-running theme with Drudge.

Gateway Pundit blogger Jim Hoft took it even further. In a post headlined, “Obama Puts on His Best Dialect & Tells Black Audience ‘Stop Complaining & Fight,’ ” he wrote:

Barack Obama told his black audience last night to “Put on your marching shoes.”

[...]

Barack Obama delivered the red meat to the big government socialists of the Congressional Black Caucus.

He was pushing his latest half trillion dollar stimulus that he insists will work… this time.

And, since he was speaking to the black caucus he broke out the black dialect.

Terrence Howard and Cuba Gooding Jr. On Racism in Hollywood

The two actors spoke at the Congressional Black Caucus’ recent event which honored the Tuskegee Airmen…

Think Progress

At an event the Congressional Black Caucus put togetherto honor the Tuskegee Airmen and to promote George Lucas’s new movie about them, Red Tails, the movie’s stars, Terrence Howard and Cuba Gooding, Jr., had some pointed things to say about the way Hollywood approaches black actors and directors. Howard said that Lucas had put together the movie with his own money, and that it would be a critical litmus test for a system that systematically devalues black actors and black stories:

The…problem, and what becomes the undercurrent is that it’s an all-black cast, and the villains are white. Now, Hollywood, for a number of years has maintained the status quo by saying black films do not have an international value. Therefore we’re able to pay black actors less, we can give them less money to make their films…If this film, if George Lucas, who is basically the Parrish of the film industry, as Col. Noel Parrish did for the Tuskeegee Airbase, he put his entire career on the line and stood behind these black pilots, these American pilots. What George Lucas did, he put his entire career on the line…when they wouldn’t distribute it, he put $30 million into distribution. If this film is not successful, it will become a stumbling block for all time where they can say that black films do not have value or merit. It’s important that this film is supported…if George Lucas does not profit from this, then the rest of the industry will see no profit in black people.

And Cuba Gooding, Jr. said that George Lucas had pointed to Tyler Perry as an example of the only way a black director can force Hollywood to listen to him—and even then, Perry faces hurdles to finding advertisers and distributors. And he described his own process of trying to find and cultivate African-American talent:

To strive to promote black independent filmmakers, I go to festivals, I meet them, and then when people offer me projects that don’t have directors, I tell them, what about this guy? [People like director Lee Daniels, with whom Gooding's made several movies], these are the new voices in Hollywood…With Spike Lee, this black director, now that we have him, we don’t have to look anymore. We’ve got one. I’m with CAA, and I tell [Gooding's agent], who’s the next voice? Men and women, let’s get them. Let’s support them in a big studio project.

It was a potent reminder of how high the hurdles for even well-established African-American stars can be. Last week, numbers from the Directors Guild of America revealed that during the last television season, women of color directed just 1 percent of episodes. There remain huge persistent pay gaps between men and women who write for Hollywood, and between white people and people of color. Even hugely bankable stars like Will Smith have been unable to convince Hollywood as a whole that black stars can be consistent box-office draws. I hope Howard is right that huge success for Red Tells could help tear down the barriers that treat black actors, writers, and directors like second-class citizens in Hollywood, though I’m not sure anything will. But I agree with his fears that if the movie tanks, thinks could continue to get worse.

Obama Derangement Syndrome Redux…

Everybody Hates Obama

Was anyone as shocked as I was to read that Senator Tom Coburn said about Obama, race and dependency?  What is it about the first Black president that drives people on the right as well as some on the left bat crap crazy?  Even Maxine Waters, member of the Congressional Black Caucus had some harsh words for Obama for neglecting the Black community.

Plantation mentality

Rep. Maxine Waters had a quick response to Rep. Allen West’s assessment that she and other black leaders are “overseers” on a “21st-century plantation.”   West said:

Today in the black community, we see individuals who are either wedded to a subsistence check or an employment check. Democrat physical enslavement has now become liberal economic enslavement, which is just as horrible.

“It’s a little bit outrageous,” Waters, D-Calif., told MSNBC. “It’s a little bit ridiculous” and “hard to respond to.”

Bachmann Overdrive

Michele Bachmann is on the campaign trail making some of the most outrages statements (as usual):

Another Bachmann History Flub: The American People Are Worried About ‘The Rise Of The Soviet Union – Someone forgot to tell Mrs. Bachmann that the “Soviet Union hasn’t existed for over 20 years.

Here are 10 Of The Craziest Things Michele Bachmann Has Ever Said.  Here is a video of more Bachmann flubs.

Huntsman comes out of the closet

After Perry dismisses evolution as a “theory that’s out there,” Huntsman jumps on twitter and says “I believe in evolution and trust scientists on global warming. Call me crazy.”

Rick Perry seen easier for Obama to beat

The Texas governor, a social and fiscal conservative, is seen by Obama’s top election fundraisers, supporters and senior Democrats close to the campaign as easier to beat than the more moderate Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election.

GOP attacks Obama bus, but Bush did same

I suppose I will never get it.  George W. Bush took 180 days of vacation during the same period in office as Barack Obama.  Obama took 60 days. The GOP is complaining about Obama being on vacation when he should be in Washington, staring at the stock market reports so that he can don his superman outfit and save the world’s economy, I guess.  Who knows with the naysayers that bitch and moan about anything Obama does, even if Bush did the same thing during his term in office.

The latest thing is the Black Bus that Obama is using to go around the country and speak to people.

But no mention was made by Republican National Chairman Reince Priebus or Illinois GOP Chairman Pat Brady that a re-election seeking President George W. Bush used a bus from the same manufacturer, Quebec-based Prevost, for a spring 2004 “Yes, America Can” campaign tour through the Midwest.   Chicago Tribune

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee Questions Whether Race is a factor in the debt ceiling talks…does she have a point?

Discussing race in this country is such a divisive topic that most people would rather deny its existence or at least sweep it under the rug and discuss it at a later date.  In my years online, I have learned to stay away from the topic in general discussion forums.  People will attack you as being a “militant”, “prejudice”, “racist” and “anti-white” or one is “playing the race card”.  Mostly because they don’t want to talk about it.

I suspect Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee will get the same response…(See related articles, below.)

Ebony Mom Politics

We have never seen the debt ceiling issue play out like this before. We have never seen or heard talk of the United States of America defaulting on its loans, but we also have never had a black president before. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee raised this issue on the floor of Congress. I have heard several people that I know ask this same question this week. So tell me what you think is  race a factor?
