I cannot believe that a “man of God” can say this about the Newton shootings. Not a word of condolence to the parents of the deceased children slaughtered bu a deranged gunman.

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee (R) weighed in on the massacre at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn. on Friday, saying the crime was no surprise because we have “systematically removed God” from public schools.
“We ask why there is violence in our schools, but we have systematically removed God from our schools,” Huckabee said on Fox News. “Should we be so surprised that schools would become a place of carnage?”
This line of reasoning isn’t new for Huckabee.
Speaking about a mass shooting in Aurora, Colo. over the summer, the former GOP presidential candidate claimed that such violent episodes were a function of a nation suffering from the removal of religion from the public sphere.
“We don’t have a crime problem, a gun problem or even a violence problem. What we have is a sin problem,” Huckabee said on Fox News. “And since we’ve ordered god out of our schools, and communities, the military and public conversations, you know we really shouldn’t act so surprised … when all hell breaks loose.”
Adam Lanza, 20, is the suspect in a school shooting that left 27 dead Friday, including 20 children. Lanza is reportedly the son of a teacher at the school where the shootings occurred.

Huckabee is a non-reasoning “Furby.” He says whatever he hears.
Huckabee is right on with his comments regarding the Newtown CT school shooting. Some people won’t get it because their reasoning powers won’t let them believe that there is a real God. God appeals to us to “come now let us reason together, though your sins be as scarlet they will be as white as snow”. God forces himself on no one. But He will exact an accounting from all of us one day.
The fact that God has been removed from our public schools and other parts of our society is not something that secular humanists want to admit. In fact, they believe that society will be better off without God. And then when society starts falling apart they blame everyone except themselves for having been part of the removal of the very thing that would have saved them. There is no blindness like the blindness of a society that cannot see its sin as the problem of its decay. “Don’t be deceived, Whatever a man sows that will he also reap.”
I’m A Christian and I can tell you for a fact GOD has not been removed from our Public Schools or our Society. This is a fiction created by the Religious Right TO Cause more separation and division of the people of our States.

totally agree 100% but I still am sad about this latest shooting. Im afraid the way USA is going this is just one of many that will continue to happen. Of course non believers think we are cruel but the truth is: they are the ones who are cruel for stopping our youth from at least seeing our God. If the family isnt saved, those babies will still grow up seeing that everyday while in school. And God says “MY WORD WILL NOT RETURN NULL AND VOID”. Yes I cry out for these families and fatalities. Im not inhumane, Quite the opposite and if you think we dont mourn, My God mourns more than I ever could.

People that only slam others have not taken the courtesy to think through the possibilities that they could be wrong. If God has not been taken out of the schools then where in the schools do you find Him?
God should be found in the hearts and minds of the students, conditioned by their parents and churches. Schools are for “reading and writing and ‘rithmetic.’

Thank You Ted. Open prayer to a Christian God came to a end, thank GOD. Christian Kids can pray to God in silence as can any other religious group of kids. It’s done in Silence. ONLY GOD knows what’s in your heart and mind as does ALLAH, and Yewah…

Only in the silent consciousness of those that want to pray certainly they can pray and no man can remove that. But what you are afraid of is the open acknowledgement of a one true living God. Somehow this seems to be a problem. Why is it a problem if you are a Christian?
The persecuted Christians of 16th century Europe left because of the very things you all are promoting to become the norm. That’s why America was founded on a real Christian God.
Some people have intolerance for those they disagree with and at the same time claiming to be tolerant. Sounds like an oxymoron to me. If you guys were serious you would quit using ignorant terms of derision.
