Netanyahu: Romney Lying About Their Friendship

Is there anything that Romney doesn’t lie about?

Daily Kos

Bibi Netanyahu told Vanity Fair

“I remember him [Romney] for sure, but I don’t think we had any particular connections, I knew him and he knew me, I suppose.”~Bibi Netanyahu, July 2012 in Vanity Fair Interview, (middle of Page 4)

But, to hear the pathological liar, Mitt Romney, tell it the two were as thick as thieves (no pun intended) while they both worked at Bain Consulting Group in the 1970s (not to be confused with Bain Capital.)

Romney to the New York Times:

ROMNEY: “We [Mitt & Netanyahu] can almost speak in shorthand.  We share common experiences and have a perspective and underpinning which is similar.”

In December GOP Debate regarding how America should handle Iran:

ROMNEY: “I’d get on the phone to my friend Bibi Netanyahu and say, ‘Would it help if I said this? What would you like me to do?'”

Sounds like Romney would put Bibi First and America Second and that is very disturbing to me.

In April 2012, Romney said:

ROMNEY: “Israel’s current prime minister is not just a friend, he’s an old friend

Romney has touted his ‘friendship’ with Netanyahu as being “nurtured through meals in Boston, New York and Jerusalem.”

Look, it’s no surprise that Romney is a pathological liar and is lying about his “friendship” with Bibi to garner the Jewish vote — duh — But I would urge all my Jewish friends to remember that no one, of any religion or non-religion, can believe a thing that comes out of Romney’s mouth because he lies like a smelly old, nasty rug.

I would also remind my friends that Romney has hired most of Bush/Cheney Advisors and he, and they, have been chanting on and on about starting a war with Iran and ignorantly and falsely accusing Russia of still being the “Soviet Union” and also ignorantly thinking the world is still fighting the Cold War.

Mitt Romney has no Foreign Policy as his alleged Foreign Policy is exactly what the Bush/Cheney Advisors tell him it is — with no thoughts of his own and no core beliefs — Mitt just lies to the world about everything, including but not limited to, his fake, make-believe longtime close friendship with Bibi Netanyahu.

London mayor calls out Romney in front of 100,000 at Olympic torch lighting

London Mayor Boris Johnson

Apparently Mittens was a bit snooty with his criticism of  the London Olympics’ security issue.  The London press, the Prime Minister and now the Mayor did not take to kindly to Romney’s remarks about London and their Olympics…

The Raw Story

London Mayor Boris Johnson shamed presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney in front of a crowd of 100,000 people at the Olympic torch lighting on Thursday.

In an interview with NBC’s Brian Williams, Romney had offended Brits when he suggested that London wasn’t ready for the games.

“It’s hard to know just how well it will turn out,” the candidate said. “There are a few things that were disconcerting. The stories about the private security firm not having enough people, the supposed strike of the immigration and customs officials — that obviously is not something which is encouraging.”

During the torch lighting ceremony the next day, the London mayor made a point of calling out Romney.

“There are some people coming from around the world who don’t yet know about all the preparations we’ve done to get London ready in the last seven years,” Johnson told the massive crowd in Hyde Park. “There’s a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we’re ready.”

“Are we ready? Are we ready? Yes, we are!”

Watch the video from BBC, broadcast July 26, 2012 via Crooks & Liars.

From Crooks & Liars:

Mitt Romney’s very bad week in London just got worse, as he was called out by name by London’s Mayor Boris Johnson in front of 100,000 in Hyde Park, and millions more watching on the ‘telly’.

Boris Johnson: “I hear there’s a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know if we are ready. Are we ready? Are we ready? Yes, we are!”

Burn.

When the Mayor ended by asking the crowd if London will put on the greatest Olympics that have ever been held they shouted in unison “Yes We Can!” And with that Mitt Romney’s humiliation was complete.

STUDY: Super-Rich Hiding At Least $21 Trillion In Tax Havens

Not only is this a national security issue for our country, it’s a global security issue as well…

Think Progress

According to a new study, the world’s super-rich are shielding at least $21 trillion in secret offshore tax havens. Using data from the Bank of International Settlements, IMF, World Bank, and national governments, the Tax Justice Network found that an astonishing 100,000 people worldwide hold nearly $10 trillion of offshore wealth, equivalent to the size of the Chinese economy. According to the study:

1. Big banks manage the wealth. The three private banks handling the most assets offshore are UBS, Credit Suisse, and Goldman Sachs.

2. Offshore wealth is creating a global economic “black hole.” If the $21 trillion in offshore earned a conservatively-estimated 3 percent rate of return, and that income was taxed at just 30 percent, this would generate tax revenues of nearly $200 billion — roughly twice the amount OECD countries spend on international development assistance.

3. High impact on developing countries. In the 139 developing countries highlighted in the report, the richest citizens had amassed $7.3 to $9.3 trillion of unrecorded offshore wealth that is beyond the reach of local tax authorities. The report reveals that many developing “debtor” countries are actually quite wealthy, but the money is held by a few individuals.

4. Huge tax haven growth in the last few years. In 2005, the world’s top 50 banks managed $5.4 trillion in offshore money. By the end of 2010, the figure is over $12 trillion, representing an average annual growth rate of more than 16 percent.

This tax avoidance study comes at a time when many are questioning presidential hopeful Mitt Romney’s use of tax havens. As an executive at Bain Capital, Romney routed investmentsthrough companies in Bermuda or the Cayman Islands to allow investors to avoid U.S. taxes.

40 Economists Say The GOP Has Abandoned Economic Reality

This is serious and the delusional, dim-witted GOP in Congress think it’s a joke…all in the name of bringing the POTUS down.  They look more like idiots than statesmen.

Think Progress

survey of forty economists from across the ideological and partisan spectrum has concluded that on some of its most cherished issues, the Republican Party has simply taken leave of economic reality. For instance, economists Betsey Stevenson and Justin Wolfers noted that one of the results from the survey — run by the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, which is hardly known for a left-wing slant — is an overwhelming agreement that the 2009 Recovery Act (i.e. the stimulus) brought down unemployment. But GOP leaders have spent years roundly denouncing the stimulus as a failure:

And while there was a bit more disagreement as to whether the benefits of the stimulus bill outweighed its costs, the bulk of the economists surveyed came down in the “Agree” or “Strongly Agree” camps. Other points from the survey’s respondents worth noting:

The nation needs new revenues. Contrary to nearly every Republican, the economists overwhelmingly agreed that the federal budget deficit cannot and should not be closed without increased tax revenue.

No gold standard. They roundly rejected the belief that a return to the gold standard would stabilize prices or lower unemployment. Enthusiasm for the gold standard made a significant comeback in Republican circles during the presidential primaries.

The “Laffer Curve” won’t help. Virtually all of them rejected the notion that cutting income tax rates would actually increase total tax revenue in future years.

Rethink the drug war. The respondents were also generally in favor of softer approaches to the nation’s drug problem.

While there were a few survey results that could be interpreted as hard on progressive causes as well, none struck at their heart in the same way as the positions taken on core Republican beliefs.

[...]

Sen. Sanders also did the last thing the billionaires wanted. He called them out by name.

According to the report, America for Sale: A Report on Billionaires Buying the 2012 Election, here are the 26 billionaires who are trying to buy your government:

The thing that these billionaires love most about Citizens United it is that it allows them to operate in total darkness. The American people couldn’t fight back because the billionaires were giving their money anonymously. This same cloak of invisibility is what made ALEC so effective for years. The conservative billionaire cabal works best in private, behind closed doors, far away from curious eyes.
