Tea Party Leader Attacks John McCain – Even Issuing What Could Be Called A Death Threat

This guy, a so-called Tea Party leader is definitely off the rails…I can only hope that more tantrums like this one will make all Americans see what freaks these people really are.

Addicting Info

Original North Phoenix Tea Party chairman Wes Harris had some very strong words about Arizona Senator John McCain this week, as reported in the Arizona Capitol Times.

For rising to the defense of Ms. Abedin, Mr. Harris said that Senator McCain was standing for “more a fascist type of organization.” He also said that Senator McCain was defending “Islamic enemies of America” for his rebuke of Representative Michele Bachmann’s comments against the State Department aide earlier this month. Harris further said “He just took Michele Bachmann over the coals on the floor of the Senate for her warning about the Muslim Brotherhood infiltrating our government. It’s just one of many things. It culminates in this latest debacle.”

The most damning piece, however is when he ended it with this:

“Go to hell, Senator, it’s time for you to take your final dirt nap.”

This new McCarthyism is beyond insane. They have taken a page right out of the old Wisconsin Senator’s playbook, crossed out “Communist” and put in “Muslim Brotherhood” and are using it verbatim. Harris even admitted that it did not matter whether any ties between Ms. Abedin and the Muslin Brotherhood existed or not. That she was Islamic was enough to disbar her from government, according to him.

Harris, a precinct committeeman in Arizona Legislative District 6, may be violating the terms of his committee membership by calling for the recall of a sitting Arizona Senator. If nothing else, it would be difficult for him to claim to be unbiased in handling future elections.

The founding founders of this nation purposefully put into the Constitution a prohibition on religion being any basis for public service. So, we end this piece, written by them, as found in the US Constitution, Article VI, paragraph 3:

no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.

Wisconsin Republican Senator Believes Voter ID Will Help Romney ‘In A Close Race’

Wisconsin State Sen. Glenn Grothman (R)

Think Progress

With polls showing a surprisingly tight presidential race in Wisconsin, the state’s new voter ID law could make the difference for Mitt Romney, according to the State Senate Minority Assistant Leader Glenn Grothman (R).

Grothman helped pass voter ID in Wisconsin last year, which disenfranchisescitizens who don’t bring a certain form of photo identification with them to the polls.

In an interview with ThinkProgress on Sunday, the number-two Republican senator argued that voter ID could be a boon for Republicans’ electoral prospects if the controversial law, which was recently blocked in state court, is reinstated in time for the November election. “Insofar as there are inappropriate things, people who vote inappropriately are more likely to vote Democrat,” argued Grothman.

KEYES: If it were upheld and in place in time for the November election, do you think — polls have shown a pretty razor-thin margin — do you think it might ultimately help Romney’s campaign here in the state?

GROTHMAN: Yes. Right. I think we believe that insofar as there are inappropriate things, people who vote inappropriately are more likely to vote Democrat.

KEYES: So if these protections are in place of voter ID, that might ultimately help him in a close race?

GROTHMAN: Right. I think if people cheat, we believe the people who cheat are more likely to vote against us.

Listen here…

Wisconsin is perennially a swing state in presidential elections. Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) carried Wisconsin by just 0.4 percent in 2004; polls this year suggest it could be another nailbiter. PPP gives President Obama a 6-point edge, 50-44, but Rasmussen put Romney ahead by 3 points, 47-44.

Approximately 300,000 Wisconsinites lack a government-issued photo ID, more than 27 times the margin that Kerry won by in 2004. If the polls are still close in November and voter ID is reinstated, Grothman may very well be correct that the new law will give Romney an edge on Election Day.

Wisconsin isn’t the only state where Republican legislators think voter ID could help their presidential nominee prevail. Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Mike Turzai (R) turned heads last month when he declared that voter ID “is gonna allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania.” Turzai helped lead the push for voter ID in the Keystone State, which  passed earlier this year.

Tripp Palin Gay Slur: Bristol’s Son Calls Aunt Willow A ‘Fa**ot’ On Reality Show

Tripp Palin BristolIt appears Bristol Palin might be saying too much around her three-year old son Tripp…

The Huffington Post

The Palins have never been known for being particularly gay-friendly – and unfortunately, it seems as if the youngest member of the family is following in the footsteps of his elders.

A newly-released clip from the Lifetime reality series “Bristol Palin: Life’s a Tripp” shows Tripp Palin uttering a homophobic slur when mom Bristol and aunt Willow won’t let him visit the swimming pool.

The Palin sisters gasp, and then giggle, when three-year-old Tripp’s temper tantrum culminates in the tot calling his aunt a “faggot.”

Though Bristol does confess that she’s “doing a terrible job disciplining Tripp…I know he’s going to continue to push the boundaries,” her son’s behavior doesn’t seem too out of step, given his family’s history of anti-gay activity. In 2010, Willow sparked controversy when she fired off at a classmate on Facebook, referring to him “so gay” and “such a faggot.”

Perhaps Sarah Palin’s grandson would be better served by taking notes from dad Levi Johnston, who in 2009 embraced his gay icon status on “The Joy Behar Show” following his steamy spread in Playgirl magazine.

Michele Bachmann’s Toxic Brand of Christianity

Michele Bachmann - snake : http://mariopiperni.com/

Mario Piperni

Frank Bruni questions Michele Bachmann’s version of Christian love.

What I find most fascinating about Michele Bachmann — and there are many, many more where she came from — is that she presents herself as a godly woman, humbly devoted to her Christian faith. I’d like to meet that god, and I’d like to understand that Christianity.

Bachmann’s concept of Christian love brims with hate, and she has a deep satchel of stones to throw. From what kind of messiah did she learn that?

Indeed. Bachmann’s attack on Hillary Clinton aide, Huma Abedin (Abedin is apparently an agent for the Muslim Brotherhood…sigh), is just another example of the delusional crusade Bachmann has embarked upon in her battle to filter out those she deems impure. She follows in the footsteps of Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and other hate mongers who shield themselves behind the Bible and use politics as a means to further their demonization of Muslims, gays and any other sector of society that does not fit neatly into their narrow interpretation of what constitutes good.

Bruni takes a look at some of Bachmann’s illogical beliefs and conspiratorial theories on homosexuals, Muslims and women’s rights. He closes with:

Most of us distinguish, rightly, between Muslim extremists and other followers of Islam. Perhaps we should start noting the difference between Christians of real compassion and those exclusionary spite.

Bachmann’s on to something: dangerous fundamentalists have indeed set up camp deep inside the capital. She can find one in her office. She need only look in the mirror.

Is this not clear enough? And yet the people of Minnesota keep on putting into office an individual who is clearly mentally unfit to govern. Why?

Mitt Romney Gets Busted Buying Twitter Followers

Romney got busted!

How desperate is this guy buying Twitter followers?

This is the same mindset that makes him believe that he can buy the presidency…

PoliticusUSA

Something strange is going on with Mitt Romney’s Twitter account. It looks like the Romney campaign is using the Colorado shooting as a distraction to hide their buying 100,000 new Twitter followers.

140ELECT has been keeping an eye on this and providing the data behind Romney’s suspect surge, “Romney was gaining around 3000-4000 new followers per day for the past month. Yesterday he acquired 23,926 new followers and is climbing well over 50,000 today. The hourly stats make it pretty clear where this began.”

At 4 PM on Friday, Romney experienced a sudden rise in followers. This is bizarre because hours earlier in the day, the candidate had pulled himself off of the campaign trail. Mitt Romney is doing absolutely nothing right now, yet his number of Twitter followers continues to skyrocket.

Mitt Romney’s Twitter account gained 23, 926 followers yesterday. As of 2 PM ET, Romney has more than tripled that total with 75,912 new followers. In some of these hours, the official Romney account has only had 700 mentions and 15 retweets, yet tens of thousands of, ” new people” are now following him.

Romney’s previous best day ever was June 28 when he gained 9,160 new followers. Before this Romney’s best day was April 12, when he gained 6,396 followers. Romney has seen an eightfold increase over his previous best day at a time when the candidate is not campaigning, and the nation’s attention is turned towards the Colorado shooting.

This isn’t even the first time that Romney has purchased Twitter followers. In August 2011, Peek You analyzed the Twitter accounts of all of the Republican presidential contenders, and found that only 26% of Mitt Romney’s followers were real people.

The initial data on tweets and mentions of the Romney account isn’t matching up with an account that has gotten 100,000 new followers in day. Romney gained over 8,000 new followers at 1 PM today, but only had 1,000 mentions and 11 retweets.

Romney now has 777, 835 followers. If the 26% human ratio holds true, Mitt Romney’s actual real human followers total a little over 200,000. For the record, President Obama’s campaign account has over 17,700,000 followers.

It appears that the Romney campaign thought that the Colorado shooting was the perfect time to go on a Twitter follower buying spree. With the media all covering the horrible shooting, they assumed no one would notice if they added 100,000 new Twitter followers in a day, but they were wrong.

No explanation can be found in the news cycle for why a candidate that is not even campaigning has seen such a dramatic spike in his number of Twitter followers.

It is possible that 100,000 people woke up yesterday and today, and decided that now would be a great time to start following Mitt Romney.

But the likely truth is just like the awkward and unpopular rich kid that he is, it looks like Mitt Romney is having to buy his friends on Twitter.
