Editorial Note…

Earlier today I posted an article from the website Examiner.com entitled:  California politician advocates assassination of Obama and family.

I clicked on the link I provided to check something about the article and found that the article had been deleted.  I also checked with Democratic Underground, and got the same results.

In both cases there was no explanation for the deletions.

I decided to delete the article as well.  I apologize for the error and if there are more details about this issue, I will share them with you.

House GOP again holding 150 million Americans hostage, demanding dangerous spending cuts during a Depression

What in the world is the House GOP trying to accomplish?

Oh, yeah, make Obama a one term president, even if it means going against the principles and values of our country.  It seems their current mantra is: “Democracy be damned!  America be damned!  Power to the Corporations!”

AMERICAblog

We are in a Depression, according to Paul Krugman. And the extremists controlling the House GOP are still demanding even more immediate spending cuts, which is dangerous as hell during an economic crisis.

Decreased spending depresses the economy even more – just look at what happened in England after the conservative government massively cut spending – the economy collapsed and the budget deficit actually got worse.  Why?  Because when the economy collapses more people are unemployed, which lowers government tax revenue and increases government spending on unemployment and other related programs.  Revenue decreases, spending increases, budget deficit increases.

The House GOP’s proposed additional spending cuts will hurt economic growth, and what’s worse, the House GOP isn’t done there. They also think the payroll tax holiday is a bad idea, and they think the unemployment benefits are too large.  According to a slew of mainstream economics, including those on Wall Street, the payroll tax holiday and unemployment benefit extensions could be worth as much as 1.5 percentage points of GDP next quarter (meaning that without them, GDP might drop by 1.5 percentage points, which is huge in a depressed economy).  That’s what the House GOP wants to get rid of, 1.5 percentage points of GDP.

Let me put this in terms folks can appreciate. A week before Christmas, House Republicans want to increase taxes on every single worker in America, and they want to cut further whatever meager income the unemployed are currently getting. And to top it off, they want to cut spending overall, which will further cut economic growth and increase unemployment even more.

Merry Christmas!

Brought to you by the Tea Party, another name for Gingrich/Armey. It’s 1994 all over again.  And yet again, when Republicans are elected to national office, the crazies take over every time.

FREE FALLING: Newt Plummets In Iowa

Looks like “The Newt” is about to be history, once again…

The Huffington Post

Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich suffered a big drop in support in Iowa with Ron Paul taking the lead weeks before a key caucus in the state, according to a Democratic polling firm.

The Public Policy Polling telephone survey of 597 likely Republican caucus voters in Iowa found Paul, a congressman from Texas, leading with 23 percent of the vote, followed by 20 percent for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and 14 percent for Gingrich.

“Newt Gingrich’s campaign is rapidly imploding and Gingrich has now seen a big drop in his Iowa standing two weeks in a row,” the polling firm, which is affiliated with the Democratic Party, said in a statement.

Gingrich’s share of the vote in the past two weeks has gone from 27 percent to 22 percent to 14 percent, in the latest poll, taken Dec 16-18, with a margin of error for the survey of plus or minus four points, it said.

North Korea State TV Says Kim Jong Il Has Died

If this is true, there should not be a significant regime change since Kim Jong Il’s  twenty-something mini me son will likely continue his father’s restrictive policies in North Korea…

TPM News

North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il has died aged 69 of a heart attack, state media announced Monday, plunging the impoverished nuclear-armed nation into uncertainty.

The official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said the leader “passed away from a great mental and physical strain” at 8:30 am on Saturday (2330 GMT Friday), while on a train for one of his “field guidance” tours.

It urged people to follow Kim’s youngest son and heir apparent Kim Jong-Un, who is aged in his late 20s.

“All party members, military men and the public should faithfully follow the leadership of comrade Kim Jong-Un and protect and further strengthen the unified front of the party, military and the public,” said the news agency and a weeping TV announcer.

KCNA said Kim died of a “severe myocardial infarction along with a heart attack”. It said an autopsy was performed Sunday.

The leader suffered a stroke in August 2008 which left him with impaired movement in his left arm and leg.

The North declared a period of national mourning from December 17 to 29.

South Korea’s government went on an emergency footing after the shock news, the South’s Yonhap news agency reported. It summoned a meeting of the National Security Council.

North and South Korea have remained technically at war since the three-year Korean conflict ended only in an armistice in 1953.
