I love it when birthers throw each other under the bus…
The Huffington Post
It’s a given that at some point in the future, Barack Obama will not be the president of the United States. That time may come sooner than Democrats want, or later than Republicans fear, but it will come all the same, and there will be a new president. Perhaps even a Republican president! And so like many of you, I’ve been wondering about what happens to the Birther movement in a post-Obama era. (If you’ve not been wondering about this, feel free to click here to learn more about cooking with bourbon, America’s most important foodstuff.)
In my mind, I’ve always imagined that the chances of Birtherism continuing much beyond Obama’s presidency were small. And I never thought for one minute that the Birthers would demand similar scrutiny of a Republican candidate for president. But it turns out I may have been wrong about this, because as Wonkette reports, there’s some sort of Birther schism emerging over the Oval Office prospects of Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).
In one corner, we have Lawrence Sellin, a former Army reserve officer who seems to have parlayed getting dismissed from his position as a staffer to General David Petraeus in Afghanistan (for criticizing his superiors and making fun of their PowerPoint presentations) into a career of writing Birther tracts for something called the Canada Free Press. He’s been something of a fixture in the movement ever since, and is undeterred in his dementia despite this year’s release of Obama’s long sought-after “long form birth certificate.” Now, he’s targeting Rubio:

It is my opinion that the “birthers” lost their credibility by going after Obama for what amounted to an overblown frenzy of ingnorance and a large dose of stupidity.
I am by no means a supporter of the Obama regime, but found the whole birther movement to be nothing more than a bunch of conservative nuts who went to the extremes to trash Obama’s name. It was a total and complete waste of time and energy. The only way to properly get rid of this president is to be sure that voters are informed and use their power of choice in the voting booth.
Now they are apparently going after Marco Rubio. These “birthers” are beginning to show a pattern that is perhaps bordering on something other than where someone was born. I’ll just leave it at that.
Thank you for sharing my post, “Marco Rubio: Vice President?”
Hi J. Roycroft. Your take on “birthers” is spot on in my opinion.
You are welcome to post here at any time. We don’t care about one’s ideology or party affiliation. We simply love a good debate.
Thanks for your post.
Obama was born in Hawaii. However, he was also adopted.
Ok, skeptic, LOL. Whatever floats your boat.
I’m just glad my boat DOES float. I think a lot of the “birthers” are drowning.
I think a lot of the “birthers” are drowning.
Yes, drowning in their own bile. (Pardon the graphic details.)
Well, I wouldn’t go that far. What I will say is I believe many “birthers” and anti-birthers are blinded by partisanship.
Skeptic, have you ever heard of Fogbow. It’s the premiere birther debunking site:

Most commenters are attorneys or in the legal field.
Yeah, the fogbow people annoy me. They bring up a lot of good evidence, but many of them are blinded by partisanship. I agree with a lot they have to say, but they disregard all the “birther” beliefs all together. They often rely on logical fallacies when they’re on the losing side of an argument. I also do not approve of the fraudulent documents they have made and

some of the games they like to play. I go to both “birther” sites and anti-birthers sites so I can get the whole story without having to rely on one biased viewpoint.
By the way, your post came up from WordPress and I’m glad it did. It’s a pleasure to meet a well rounded Libertarian.
