“…from an administration that was not prone to apologizing for anything.” Or telling the truth unless backed into a corner (they couldn’t bomb first). Cheney’s attempt to rewrite history can be put in the pile of self-serving fiction so many in the Bush White House have written. The fact is, these books only reassure the sheep and confirm for the rest of us that respect for truth, human rights or the American people simply wasn’t on their agendas then or now.
When will Cheney be arrested, tried, and executed? Even this small
gesture at justice would do a great deal to help lift the spirits of Americans.
I read somewhere recently that the Bush administration deliberately muddled so many things regarding their two wars, private contractors, intelligence, etc.billions of dollars gone missing, killing innocent civilians, that trying to unravel things to prove that Bush, Cheney, et al are war criminals would take years if at all.
So when President Obama says that his administration will not investigate the Bush war crimes, there is a legitimate reason. $$$ and time.
