Raw Story
Former Senator Alan Simpson (R) appeared on MSNBC’s The Last Word Wednesday, where he called for an investigation into anti-tax crusader Grover Norquist’s influence on the Republican Party.
Grover’s anti-tax pledge has been signed by 235 House Republicans and 41 Senate Republicans.
“If Grover Norquist is more powerful than the President of the United States and Congress… he should run for president,” Simpson said. “It’s time now to peel all the layers of onion off of Grover Norquist.”
“Who is he a slave to?” he added. “Somewhere that needs to come out very soon.”

I saw him. He spoke very powerfully and passionately about it. Just goes to show you how different the Republican party is now compared to when Simpson was a Senator. You won’t that from hear ANY current Republican nowadays.
I just watched my aved version of The Last Word (on DVR) and saw Simpson. Wow what a sharp man to be in his 70′s or 80′s. I admire him when he’s making sense and not using women’s body parts as metaphors.

Hi Betty Jo, welcome. I like your theory. It’s certainly a plausible one.
