You wanna know who the real “d**k” is in all of this? Mark Halperin…
Morning Joe Blog
Statement from MSNBC:
Mark Halperin’s comments this morning were completely inappropriate and unacceptable. We apologize to the President, The White House and all of our viewers. We strive for a high level of discourse and comments like these have no place on our air. Therefore, Mark will be suspended indefinitely from his role as an analyst.
Statement from Mark Halperin:
I completely agree with everything in MSNBC’s statement about my remark. I believe that the step they are taking in response is totally appropriate.
Again, I want to offer a heartfelt and profound apology to the President, to my MSNBC colleagues, and to the viewers. My remark was unacceptable, and I deeply regret it.

Halperin was using code language. His point was to show as much public disrespect as he possibly could for the President of the United States in as personal a way as possible. He knew he would gain “points” from certain persons and interests and believed those points were worth any fall out from his comments.
Halperin thought he could get away with it since it fell short of using the “N” word. It wasn’t at all funny and I think Joe and Mika’s display of faux surprise and giggly outrage was very disappointing also.
Yuck!
When editing I added an “s” to “display” but did not change “was” to “were”.
Kstreet, is there a way to edit after posting? I can’t be the only one who could use it.
Hey LTL, I don’t see an edit option for commenters anywhere in my settings here. Actually what I did was delete the “s” which then made everything grammatically correct.
BTW, think of all the opportunities that have presented themselves since Obama became POTUS to call someone a “dick” – from the “You lie” guy to the birfer bunch to all the over-the-top personal attacks on the President by Republican candidates for whatever office they were seeking. But somehow when Obama talks about not reducing the debt exclusively through spending cuts, the likes of Mark Halperin feel its time to take the gloves off.
And it happened on MSNBC – not FOX News.
Good, he brings his attitude into his commentary. Fair and balanced. The Obama bashing is supposed to be Fox….. Will not consider his opinions any further….. Thank you MSNBC… Like to see this at Fox once in awhile…..but,of course Ale’s likes his team be snarky and mis informed..
Judy, one of the things I try to do is avoid “Morning Joe” if at all possible. Joe Scarborough is a pompous ass at times and a partisan hack at all times.
Anyone that’s hated on “both sides of the aisle” as Scarborough is, has got to be quite insignificant, but somebody forgot to tell MSNBC and Scarborough himself.
