Romney Stumbles Over ‘Hang Him’ Gaffe Aimed At Obama (VIDEO)

What a damned idiot! 

Just a two weeks ago he said, “…the citizenship test has been passed” when he referred to the POTUS birth certificate issue.  What the hell is that supposed to mean?  That there is a mandatory citizenship test for candidates who are “other than” the standard version?

In New Hampshire Friday, Mitt Romney stumbled over a line about pinning the nation’s melancholy on President Obama that found him scrambling to back away from a quote suggesting Republicans are going to “hang” Obama with America’s problems in 2012.

“Uh, so to speak — metaphorically,” Romney quickly corrected, before adding, “you have to be careful these days, I’ve learned that.”

It was a standout gaffe from the first major candidate forum of the 2012 cycle in the Granite State, where Romney joined four other presidential hopefuls at an event sponsored by the tea party-fueling Americans For Prosperity group.

Blogger Kombiz Lavasany quickly picked up on the line, posting a truncated video of the moment to the Americablog site:

 

The Boston Globe also picked up on the line, as did Joshua Green at the Atlantic.

The moment came after Romney was asked about how to deal with the nation’s high energy prices. Here’s the full quote, transcribed from C-SPAN’s coverage of the forum:

Do you remember that during the Ronald Reagan-Jimmy Carter debates, that Ronald Reagan came up with this great thing about the Misery Index? And he hung that around Jimmy Carter’s neck and that had a lot to do with Jimmy Carter losing. Well we’re going to have to hang the Obama Misery Index around his neck. And I’ll tell you, the fact that you’ve got people in this country really squeezed with gasoline getting so expensive, with commodities getting so expensive, families are having a hard time making ends meet. So we’re going to have to do talk about that, and housing foreclosures and bankruptcies and and hire taxation. We’re going to hang him with that — uh, so to speak, metaphorically, with, uh, you have to be careful these days, I learned that — with an Obama Misery Index.

If you are a “birther” then this is what you have to believe.

I honestly planned for only one “birther” post today, but this one caught my eye…

Barack Obama’s mother was Stanley Ann Dunham (November 29, 1942 – November 7, 1995), a teen mother who later got a Ph.D. in anthropology, and a woman so brilliant, so devious, so wealthy, that she was able to pull off the greatest conspiracy since the murder of Gaius Julius Caesar.

Some suspect that she may have played a role in that as well. By distracting the worlds entire military-industrial complex, multiple world leaders, the Republican Party, the Koch brothers, and the United States Supreme Court she managed to insert her Muslim, foreign born, black son into the most powerful position in the world and take command of the world’s largest military.

Now Graphic Artists On the Internet Claim Obama Birth Certificate Is A Fake (Video)

Now they are saying because the birth certificate that President Obama released on Thursdays has “layers”, that proves that the certificate is fake.

It didn’t take long for some of President Obama’s doubters to claim the long-awaited birth certificate posted online by the White House on Wednesday had been altered or might be a fake.

But a leading software expert says there’s no doubt about its authenticity, and he dismisses claims of fraud as flat-out wrong.

The doubters have latched onto the idea that Adobe Illustrator — the premier program for computer graphic artists — “reveals” evidence of document manipulation in the Obama birth certificate. They note Illustrator reveals nine separate layers of the document, and claim it’s “proof” the file has been altered.

But that’s not so, says Jean-Claude Tremblay, a leading software trainer and Adobe-certified expert, who has years of experience working with and teaching Adobe Illustrator.

He said the layers cited by doubters are evidence of the use of common, off-the-shelf scanning software — not evidence of a forgery. “I have seen a lot of illustrator documents that come from photos and contain those kind of clippings—and it looks exactly like this,” he said.

Tremblay explained that the scanner optical character recognition (OCR) software attempts to translate characters or words in a photograph into text. He said the layers cited by the doubters shows that software at work – and nothing more.

“When you open it in Illustrator it looks like layers, but it doesn’t look like someone built it from scratch. If someone made a fake it wouldn’t look like this,” he said.“Some scanning software is trying to separate the background and the text and splitting element into layers and parts of layers.”

Tremblay also said that during the scanning process, instances where the software was unable to separate text fully from background led to the creation of a separate layer within the document. This could be places where a signature runs over the line of background, or typed characters touch the internal border of the document.

“I know that you can scan a document from a scanner most of the time it will appear as one piece, but that doesn’t mean that there’s no software that’s doing this kind of stuff,” he said, adding that it’s really quite common.

“I’d be more afraid it’d be fake if it was one in piece. It would be harder to check if it’s a good one if it’s a fake,” Tremblay said.
