Obama designates 200,000 acre habitat for polar bears

Did someone say that the Presidential Ticket in 2012 will be Palin v. Obama?   As we say in “New Yawk”…fugetaboutit!

While Palin is in Alaska destroying wildlife through indiscriminate hunting (read: slaughter) of wolves, moose and the like, our POTUS has shown his concern for wildlife and has done something about it.

AmericaBlog:

It’s about time someone cares about the wildlife again instead of what Big Oil wants. Wildlife may not be able to donate as much money to lobbying, but they give back a lot more.

The Obama administration said Thursday it is designating more than 200,000 square miles in Alaska and off its coast as “critical habitat” for polar bears, an action that could add restrictions to future offshore drilling for oil and gas.

Federal law prohibits agencies from taking actions that may adversely affect critical habitat and interfere with polar bear recovery.

    kstreet:

That photo of the polar bear hugging the wolf – I’ve never seen anything like it. Do you know whether it was actually taken in the wild?

BTW, how do I read posts over at your site?

I will try to post this over there too. It didn’t work last time I tried.

    kstreet,

I have been dropping in fairly regularly just for information and to see what you had to say generally.

You really have some good stuff over here. From now on, when I peep I’ll post.
